    Jon joined the audio team at BBC R&D in January 2018, where he works on novel immersive audio reproduction methods and applications of object-based audio, as well as sound quality evaluation. Prior to that, he graduated with a first-class honours degree in music and sound recording (Tonmeister) from the University of Surrey in 2010, before receiving a PHD in perceptual audio quality evaluation from the same institution in 2014. He then worked as a research fellow on the EPSRC-funded S3A: Future Spatial Audio for an Immersive Listener Experience at Home project, investigating the perceptual attributes of spatial audio reproduction and new methods for immersive audio reproduction.
