A career retrospective of one the UK’s finest actors. Stephen Graham talks candidly about his career which has seen him work alongside the likes of Martin Scorsese, Tom Hanks, Robert De Niro, Johnny Depp and of course the hugely talented Shane Meadows.
Whilst Stephen may be conquering Hollywood and is himself a true star of the screen, this unassuming actor – originally hailing from Kirkby in Merseyside – will always shun the bright lights of stardom in favour of his rural home in Leicestershire.
Stephen Graham has enjoyed continued success following his critically acclaimed performance in the 2006 BAFTA Best Picture winner This Is England, directed by Shane Meadows. He’s since secured a TV BAFTA nomination with the follow-up Channel 4 mini-series This is England ‘86, ’88 & ‘90.
Other notable TV credits include HBO’s Parade’s End with Benedict Cumberbatch, his iconic portrayal of Al Capone opposite Steve Buscemi in Martin Scorsese’s Boardwalk Empire for HBO as well as parts in The Watchman, Line of Duty, The Virtues and many more.
Stephen’s film credits include Public Enemies alongside Johnny Depp, The Fields opposite Sam Worthington, Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, and most recently Rocketman alongside Taron Egerton and The Irishman opposite Al Pacino and Robert De Niro. In 2020, Stephen will star in Greyhound alongside Tom Hanks and is currently filming Venom 2 alongside Tom Hardy.
